Aligning the Ecosystem: How Herko is Scaling Zero-Emission last-mile Logistics
Innovation is messy by definition. When you are redefining an industry, just like Herko Trucks is doing with zero-emission logistics in cities, you are not just building a product: You are building a whole network.
That brings a specific kind of complexity: the friction between internal speed and external coordination.
That is why the AdD team was back in Bilbao to tackle exactly that:
Visualize the reality on the ground.
Before opening a laptop, we walked the floor. Visiting the Herko production line was the necessary first step. To understand the process flow, you need to see the physical constraints and the engineering reality.
But the machinery is only one part of the equation. The real challenge often lies in how the information flows between the people building the trucks and the partners supplying the ecosystem.
We facilitated an intensive two-day workshop, bringing together the Herko internal team and several key external partners.
The goal was all about operational rigour: The current workflows got stripped down to identify where the bottlenecks were hiding.
1) Internal Processes: How does the team communicate priorities?
2) External Integration: Are partners aligned with Herko’s production rhythm? We left Bilbao with more than just notes.
We left with a unified understanding. The bottlenecks have been identified, the needs are defined, and the roadmap for the next phase is clear.
Herko is ready to scale. And now, their ecosystem is aligned to scale with them.
Big thanks to the Herko team and its partners for the welcome.
